CAUSEWAY COAST AND GLENS YOUTH VOICE
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is seeking Youth Voice members to represent the voices of young people across Causeway Coast and Glens.
Young People aged 15 – 21 years old who live in the borough are invited to apply to be part of Causeway Coast and Glens Youth Voice. This two-year programme will be managed by the Council in Partnership with our Community Planning Partner – the Education Authority through their Youth Service provision.
Youth Voice will provide young people with the opportunity to:
- Engage with key decision makers
- Have their say on local issues
- Meet new friends
- Be a representative voice for young people in their area
- Be involved and pro-actively engaged with local decision-making processes
Causeway Coast and Glens Youth Voice will meet on a regular basis to identify and take forward common issues relating to young people in the local area along with opportunities for residentials and to participate in study visits.

Everyone is invited to apply regardless of background, abilities or interests. We welcome representatives from right across the geographical spread of the borough and underrepresented groups to ensure the many different needs of young people in the area are heard.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PLATFORM FOR CAUSEWAY COAST AND GLENS
Next Meeting of the Community Engagement Platform for Causeway Coast and Glens Community and Voluntary Sector
Are you a member of a local community or voluntary group? You are very welcome to attend the next meeting of the Causeway Coast and Glens Community Engagement Platform.
This will take place as follows:-
Venue: Shiels Room, Ballymoney Town Hall, 1 Townhead Street, Ballymoney, BT53 6BE
Date: Tuesday 12th March 2019
Time: 3.30pm – 5.00pm (Afternoon Tea from 3.15pm)
Guest Speaker: Eileen Mullan - Eileen is founder of Strictly Boardroom and the Boardroom Apprentice , both of which focus on increasing participation in decision making in public life.
Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Strategic Partnership recently called on individuals active within the community and voluntary sector to co-chair the new Community Engagement Platform.
The Platform aims to provide an opportunity to build relationships and connect more voices to local public services and decision making bodies. This will help highlight the collective interests of the local community and voluntary sector while acting as a borough wide platform for consultation and engagement. The Platform will also provide an opportunity for community representation on Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Partnership through two Co-chairs selected by Platform participants.

At the next Platform meeting you will hear from the nominees themselves about how they would represent the community and voluntary sector of Causeway Coast and Glens. Since there are two nominations for two positions, the meeting will then provide an opportunity to affirm their appointment as the first two Co-chairs of the Causeway Coast and Glens Community Engagement Platform.

Last Chance for Nominations to Co-Chair the new Engagement Platform for Causeway Coast and Glens Community and Voluntary Sector
Are you a member of a local community or voluntary group?
Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Strategic Partnership is calling on individuals active within the community and voluntary sector to co-chair the new Community Engagement Platform.
The Platform aims to provide an opportunity to build relationships and connect more voices to local public services and decision making bodies. This will help highlight the collective interests of the local community and voluntary sector while acting as a borough wide platform for consultation and engagement. The Platform will also provide an opportunity for community representation on Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Partnership through two Co-chairs selected by Platform participants.
Initial meetings of the Community Engagement Platform involving the local community and voluntary sector have explored the rationale for the platform, the benefits for those involved with discussion and agreement for the way forward.
The Values and Terms of Reference for the Platform have been agreed through discussion and consensus with participants and are available in the links below:

A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PLATFORM FOR CAUSEWAY COAST AND GLENS
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and participate in the Introductory Meeting of the Causeway Coast and Glens Community Engagement Platform held on Wednesday 24th October 2018.
The PLATFORM will provide community representation on Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Strategic Partnership. It not only aims to help to build relationships and connect more voices to local public service providers and decision makers but also act as a borough wide PLATFORM for consultation and engagement with the community and voluntary sector. We had a well-attended and enthusiastic first session with representation from a wide range of community & voluntary groups from across the whole Borough. In general discussion focused on the benefits of such a Platform, what it could achieve and how best to make it work. The next session when we intend to explore terms of reference for the group will take place:-

A Better Future Together - Causeway Coast and Glens Community Plan
Draft Delivery Plan
Causeway Coast and Glens Draft Delivery Plan focuses on achieving real outcomes for all who live, work and visit Causeway Coast and Glens and sets out a framework based on collaboration and partnership working around which to achieve them. It is based on the Causeway Coast and Glens Community Plan which used an outcomes based approach in consultation with our community to form a Strategy for a Better Future Together.
We sincerely thank all those who continue to contribute to and attend our public engagement events on our Community Plan. We particularly wish to thank all those who participated in the work of the Design Delivery Groups to develop a wide-ranging compilation of actions for inclusion in the Causeway Coast and Glens Delivery Plan.

Public Consultation Events
Community Planning is the means by which people and communities can be placed at the centre of public service delivery and policy making. Before we finalise and publish the Community Plan, we wish to undertake a short consultation exercise giving everyone an opportunity to share their views on the proposed outcomes for our area. Is it clear what issues the Community Plan will actually try to address? Have we selected the correct indicators to monitor the impact of the Community Plan? Come along to meet the Community Planning Strategic Partners for Causeway Coast and Glens and Have Your Say - All Welcome.

Next Steps - Thematic Working Groups
The legislation and guidance on community planning refers to the three pillars of community planning as being the improvement of Social, Economic and Environmental wellbeing.
The next stage in this process will be the formation of three Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) to support the development of the Community Plan under each of the three pillars mentioned above.
